The Hotel del Levante is a modern palm fringed seafront hotel set in gardens, just 200 metres from the beach at Torre Canne, a seaside resort in the province of Brindisi. The 149 guestrooms have light fresh decor with striped fabrics and cherry wood furniture.
All are equipped with minibars, cable TV, air conditioning and bathrooms with hairdryers. A buffet breakfast is served each morning and the hotel has two restaurants, offering a range of international and Puglian cuisine, as well a beach bar for drinks and snacks. Guests can plan a day of sightseeing with assistance from the hotel’s concierge or unwind by the terraced spring water pool or under parasols on the beach.
During summer there are water aerobics and fitness classes in the garden, and an entertainment and activity programme is organised for adults and children.
Guests can swim at the sandy beach, go on an excursion in the hotel’s own private boat, enjoy a game of billiards, practise their serve on the tennis court, or rent mountain bikes to explore the coastline. The hotel houses a hair salon and a gift shop selling souvenirs and essentials, while the nearby Aveda health centre and spa offers a wide range of body therapies and beauty treatments.
For those with business needs, the hotel has five meeting rooms. Guarded parking is free for drivers. Located in the Puglia region, the hotel is surrounded by historical ruins, pretty medieval hill towns and an unspoilt coastline.
Colourful street markets are held weekly in the nearby towns of Ostuni, Martina Franca, Alberobello and Castellana. Brindisi Airport (BDS) is around 20 minutes drive and 45 kilometres away. Taxis are available from outside the airport. The Brindisi city bus runs to the city centre and costs 2.50 EUR, taking 30 minutes. The nearest train stations to the hotel are Fasano or Cisternino (both 10 kilometres away), 30 40 minutes from Brindisi station. A shuttle service from either train station is available on request.

9.0 This is a typical Italian family beach holiday
We thoroughly enjoyed the whole time there; thebeach isclean with shallow clear sea.the food good Italian with good choice and offmenu will be given if necessary.all the staff are helpful with a smile entertainment is forchidren so no disco or karaoke. This is the dry south not green lakes sothat it has its own beauty and character such as Alberobello; acar is obviously necessary but Torre Canne is just off an easy motorway.I endorse the review of Aug 1st

For a four star hotel the quality was good except for the food and service in the restaurant which was what one expect from a 2 star hotel. Torre Canne is a bit remote and does not provide much for shopping except for bare essentials. It is only 20 mins from the hotel. Easy to find hotel – instuctions good.

I came to the Hotel del Levante for a weeks break by myself. I was given a quiet welcome but on the whole the friendliness of the staff made the stay special. The hotel is splendidly located in a small seaside resort right by the sea with a private beach – no roads to cross. The narrow beach was of clean white sand. The sea was crystal clear and the slope gentle. The huge pool 25 x 12m was kept fastiduously clean and there were more than ample sunbeds. Both beach and pool were well supervised by trained hotel staff. Food was of a generally high standard – the clientle were 50% Italians for which such matters take considerable importance. The translated ‘english’ menu was interesting and I often took waiter recommendations – which were excellent – or asked to look at the Italian menu and used my I would say this hotel was ideal for families with young children – though they may wish to book a family suite and for people such as myself who wanted a relaxing week. The nearby town was crowded and not of particular interest. There were some places to vist nearby but teenagers and young couples looking for more than family oriented entertainment and some night-life might get bored. I thought if there might be a requirement for a waterpark and some more air conditioned entertainment facilities in the vicinity. My room was by the stairs and I noticed some noise at times but nothing particularly disturbing or unpleasant. All in all I enjoyed my stay very much and can recommend this hotel with the provisos already given.

The hotel was very quiet as it was ‘off peak’ season, but I found it to be clean and friendly. The restaurant was very good and the staff went out of their way to welcome you and make the stay more personalised. Would certainly recommend the hotel to others. Andrew Turner

Spacious hotel, situated on the beech, and about 15 minutes walk along the beech to the town centre. Hotel has been renovated to a fair standard with rooms fairly spacious, although I had to pay extra, for a room with a sea view, and balcony, this was well worth the extra. Only down side was the evening entertainment, although this did not spoil our stay, as we moved into the town on the nights we were there.

WE founbd just one problem really that as we took Half Board and opted for Lunch we were at big disadvantage as selection for Lunch very inferior to sleection for Dinner and not only in that selection four different ypes of ist course and Second Course but also in what was offered as we wewre never offered an Omelette at Lunch yet Dinner always had one etc The waiters and also Cleaning staff were most attentive and could not be faulted at any time, excpet It would seem Hotel had some difficulties with allocations for peoples table that they had Lunch then when they came down for Breakfast they found other people sitting at their table.

This hotel does not merit a 4 star grade. Staff and quality of service was below expectation. Staff were at times indifferent at best, if not downright rude in certain cases. Quality of food served was poor (stale/ highly processed and very limited choice), meal times were very restrictive, particulary in evening, dinner only served 7:30-9:00 pm. Location is further from Torre Canne than led to believe, at least 2k walk to nearest good restaurant. Hotel was shabby and needs an overhaul. Evening entertainment was non existant or totally useless, hotel bar closes officially at 12am( which is early for a holiday hotel in peak season) in practice staff closed bar earlier to suit themselves rather than the guests needs. Overall a disappointment, would never consider this hotel again, I have stayed in many 3 star hotels that are far superior to the Del Levante.
